Two-days Photo Voice Training for patients with mental health conditions and their caregivers

Two days of Photo voice training for Mental health patients and their caregivers were conducted on 5^th and 6^th July 2022 by TPO Nepal. The training was conducted at Hotel Star Ravi Pokhara-8, Kaski. Nine mental health patients having mental disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, and AUD and their individual caregivers (6 from Chuwa Health Post, Kushma-8, Parbat, and 3 from Machhapuchre-4, Bhedabari) participated in the training. The major aim of the training was to train people with mental health disorders in their recovery stage to express their story of recovery through photos and present it in Health Workers Training. A pre-test was done via various data collection tools like PHQ-9, WHODAS, DISCUS, and ISMI-9 following the proper consenting process, and a post-test will be done after completion of all the sessions to ensure the effectiveness of training. Most of the sessions were facilitated by the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor. The research officer handled the Process Notes part and Project Officer handled the admin and logistic part respectively. The sessions were interactive and opportunities were provided to participants to learn by doing activities such as role-play, group activity, discussion, and presentations. The participants had a positive attitude towards our project activities and the training went well.
