Standard Treatment Protocol for Mental Health services into the Primary Health Care system
“Standard Treatment Protocol (STP) for mental health services into the primary health care system” was prepared with the objective of ensuring a certain standard for provision of quality mental health services. The need for a standard protocol was felt as mental illnesses contribute to a huge burden of non-communicable diseases globally and quality services should be ensured in every health facility level. The entire content of this protocol is divided into seven parts. Part 1 deals with information related to mental health, part two to six deals with treatment protocol for mental illness and part seven deals with information on medication and documentation.
This protocol was published in 2016 by Government of Nepal, Ministry of Health, Department of Health Services, Primary Health Care Revitalization Division, Teku, Kathmandu, supported by TPO Nepal.
