TPO Nepal has translated the ‘Interim Brief Note on Addressing Mental Health and Psychosocial Aspect of COVID-19 Outbreak’ by ISAC Reference Group on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Support into Nepali Language. The documents were translated by experienced professionals in the field and was edited by a board of professional members. Back and forth translation was carried out to address the consistency and accuracy of the document.
This briefing document mostly summarizes key Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) consideration in relation to COVID-19 outbreak. For MHPSS services, it recommends multiple level of interventions to be integrated with in outbreak response activities, which ranges from ranging from embedding social and cultural considerations in basic services, to providing specialized services for individuals with more severe conditions. Furthermore, it talks about 14 globally recommended key activities which should be implemented as a part of COVID-19 response.
