Community Based Natural Disaster Psychosocial Support Training Guideline

This training guideline will be helpful to lessen psychosocial problems in people immediately after disaster, since there are no guidelines for this purpose that can be used in community. In this guideline, objectives of training, its duration, and materials necessary to conduct this training have been clearly mentioned. The information about mental and psychosocial support included in this guideline can be used for people affected by natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, epidemics and hurricanes etc.). This guideline was contextualized and adapted in Nepali context. This training guideline can be easily used by psychiatrists, trained psychosocial counselors and psychologists after thorough study. Similarly, psychosocial workers, social workers, and staffs of government and non-government organizations working in the field of protection can use it, after taking 3 to 7 days of training and thorough study of this guideline
