Basic Psychosocial Support Training Manual (B)
“Basic psychosocial support manual B” has been prepared for trainers working in the field of psychosocial support. In this manual, training duration, contents, training methods have been described in detail. This manual was published in two parts. The part A manual focuses on reference and reading materials required during training while this manual part B is related to the training.
The content of this manual include: concept of psychosocial well-being, mental health problems, causes and consequences, support system, principles of psychosocial, characteristics of the supporter, mental health issues like depression, suicide, anxiety, conversion disorder, epilepsy, stigma and discrimination, basic communication skills, case management skills, documentation skills and psycho-education. This training manual covers 12 days of training.
This manual can be used by psychosocial trainers to train frontline community health workers, CPSWs, social workers and those having the knowledge of basic psychosocial issues to build the knowledge, skills and capacity as well as to develop positive thinking. While providing the training based on this manual, target group need to be thoroughly studied first.
This manual was published in 2014 by TPO Nepal, supported by USAID and The Asia Foundation.
