RESHAPE
Introduction: – RESHAPE is a 5-years research project funded through the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant that aims to improve quality of mental health care and services in Nepal through capacity building and trainings of primary healthcare workers. The project is being implemented by TPO Nepal in partnership with George Washington University.
Objectives:
- To provide mental health training and supervision to primary health care workers so as to enable them to provide mental health care services in peripheral settings.
- To build research capacity of early career mental and behavioral health researchers and expand their research networks, with a focus on gender equity in research career development.
Target group:
- Government primary Health workers (medical officers, HAs, AHWs), FCHVs
- Mental health patients and regular patients (with non-emergency medical needs) presenting to the primary care facilities
- Community leaders and members
- Professional from various I/NGOs, Health institution and Health research agencies
Implementation area: Selected municipalities / rural municipalities in Syangja, Kaski, and Parbat districts
Time frame: October, 2019 – September 2024
