TRE at Balaju
Three sessions of Tension/Stress/Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) were conducted at Balaju School of Engineering and Technology (BSET) from 19 November 2018 to 21 November 2018. A total of 15 participants, including 12 students and 3 teachers, participated in the sessions. Jamuna Maharjan, Indira Pradhan, Pragya Shrestha and Pitambar Koirala from TPO Nepal facilitated the sessions.
TRE is a set of innovative exercises, created by Dr. David Berceli and backed by research, which are performed to reduce stress, release tension and heal trauma. The exercise consist of seven steps which enable the body to naturally shake away stress, tension and trauma in an intentional and controlled manner.
Nathalie Paradis, Teaching and GESI Advisor volunteer at the school, from the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) coordinated with TPO Nepal to conduct the event. She felt that the sessions were enjoyable and calming, which would ultimately benefit the mental well-being of the students.
Baikuntha Shrestha, Vice Principal of Balaju School of Engineering and Technology, who was also a participant, felt extremely relaxed after the sessions and thanked TPO Nepal for providing their expertise to the school
