Improvement of Community-based Disaster Risk Management and Post-Disaster Psychosocial Care for Socially Vulnerable People in Nepal
This project was implemented by TPO Nepal under Japan IsraAID Support Program (JISP), supported by the Japan government, in coordination with the Kathmandu Metropolitan office and IsraAID. This project aimed to improve the comprehensive community-based disaster risk management. Following activities were conducted with the government officials of Kathmandu metropolitan city, local NGOs/relief organizations, specialized nurses, universities, and schools who engage in supporting citizens during times of disaster:
(1) Training on disaster risk management and psychosocial care for socially vulnerable people
(2) Improvement of disaster prevention systems at evacuation points for citizens
(3) Establishment of a network between the participants of the training program
Objectives: To improve comprehensive community based disaster risk management.
