Seven days psychosocial support training for Community based Psychosocial Workers (CPSW) in Rasuwa

Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO) Nepal had conducted 7-Day Psychosocial support and care training in groups for Rasuwa district. All together 22 CPSWs were trained for seven days from Dhunche, Syafrubesi, Goljung and Dadagaun VDC  in Dhunche and CPSWs of Laharepauwa, Dadagau and Thulogau were trained in Bidur. The program was organized in collaboration with Women and Children Office (WCO) with the financial support from UNICEF. Women and Children and Office, Rasuwa has planned to establish 2 Psychosocial support centers in Syaphrubesi and Laharepauwa. The trained CPSWs will be mobilized through both centers. The major objectives of the training were to provide knowledge and skills in providing psychosocial support  in  their community along with making CPSW able to conduct assessment, identification cases, provide emotional support and making referral as per need.

The methodology used in the training was based on experiential learning and interaction which included brainstorming, group work, lecture and different games related to the content. The Tamang speaking trainer Ms Sita Lama facilitated the session which was helpful in delivering message in local language in the group of Syafrubesi.
