Transcultural Psychosocial Organization Nepal (TPO Nepal) is one of Nepal’s leading organizations in psychosocial and mental health support. It was established in 2005 with the aim of promoting psychosocial well-being and mental health of people in need through the development of sustainable, culturally appropriate, and community-based mental health and psychosocial support system.

Currently, the organization is conducting a research project “Khulla Man” in Morang district.

In this regard, TPO Nepal is looking for a competent, committed and result oriented candidate for the following position.

Position:  Psychosocial Counselor

No. of Vacancy: 1 male, 1 female

Location:  Morang

Duration: 7 months (with 2 – 3 months possible extension)

Starting Date: At the Earliest

Major responsibilities:

The Psychosocial Counselor will be responsible for following duties but not limited to:

  • Conduct trainings and supervision for Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) on community sensitization and family engagement
  • Provide individual, group and family counseling for those through the research’s referral system
  • Maintain case documentation.
  • Reports to District Coordinator for direct supervision; and Clinical Supervisor for clinical supervision.
  • Participate in supervision once in two weeks and as per need arise with Clinical Supervisor

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

  • 6 months training on psychosocial counseling from reputed institution.
  • Should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or any other related disciplines with at least two-years working experience as a psychosocial counselor
  • Able to work in multi culture environment.
  • Able to travel in remote areas of Morang district.
  • Well knowledgeable on the Nepal health care delivery system.
  • Must have be computer literate.
  • Preferred those with driving license for motorbike or scooter
