Orientation on mental health and psychosocial support to locally elected representatives
A one-day orientation program on “Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)” was held at Suryagadhi rural municipality, Nuwakot on 19 March, 2018. The orientation was given to the newly elected members of local level. This orientation was conducted as part of the project titled “Community Based Psychosocial Capacity Building Project (CBPCB-II), implemented by TPO Nepal with the financial assistance of IsraAid and Americares in three districts: Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha. The main objective of this advocacy (orientation) program was to incorporate MHPSS in local level as a priority program.
The orientation focused on presentation of the progress report, achievements, learning, challenges and recommendations. Mr. Shanta Bahadur Ghale, chairman of Suryagadhi rural municipality committed to collaborate with TPO Nepal for the capacity building of health worker, in his closing remarks. He also stated that the rural municipality would allocate adequate budget for the capacity building of health workers.
