Five days refresher training on mental health and psychosocial care and support
TPO Nepal conducted five days refresher training on Mental Health and Psychosocial Care and Support for OCMC (One-Stop Crisis Management Centre) staff at Pasa Yard, Lalitpur on 17th to 21st April 2017 under Combating Trafficking in Person (CTIP). Altogether 13 female participants from 6 various OCMC centers (Charikot PHC- Dolakha, District Hospital Chautara – Sindhupalcowk, Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital- Kathmandu, Bharatpur Hospital-Chitwan, Bheri Zonal hospital-Banke and WesternRegional Hospital-Pokhara) participated in the training.
Major objective of the training was to incorporate psychosocial concept in physical health facility into hospital setting, especially focusing on One- stop Crisis Management Centre where Gender Based Violence (GBV) survivors visits to seek services. The training enhanced participants’ knowledge and skills to identify people having psychosocial problem/emotional difficulties, to provide basic psychosocial support and link for required further services which will contribute for survivor friendly environment. Furthermore, this survivor friendly environment will ultimately contribute for survivors to gain self-esteem and inner capacity which contribute them to restore their dignity and respect.
