Common Threads Project

Definition Station Clinical Human Resource
Common Threads participants depict their ‘unspeakable’ experiences as a story told in cloth.  The powerful artwork the women have produced in cloth speaks to us not only of their pain, but also of their resilience and strength. Through it they find a way to connect to one another and to activate their capacity for coping with what has happened to them.  These widespread cultural healing practices have much to teach us about effective ways to heal from traumatic events.
