Global Holistic Approach to the Fight Against Impunity for Torture (DFI) (2014-Apr-01 to 2017-May-31)

The DFI project is a three year documentation scheme funded by International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) and is implemented in several countries including Nepal. The overall aim of DFI is to combine reliable and effective data to create powerful evidence based approaches to mobilize the public and to target the government to take action to fight impunity. Its main objective is to strengthen and harmonize the capability of rehabilitation centers to collect clinical data of torture survivors so that effective documentation takes place. Major activities include capacity building through educating/training police and security personnel as well as monitoring adherence to national and international human rights guidelines.

In Nepal, the project is implemented in Katmandu. In time, DFI aims to achieve a reliable system to construct the basis for a standard of data collection for rehabilitation centers.
